the bible says that there will come a time when people everywhere around the globe will be forced to get the mark of the beast to be able to buy or sell.

so those not accepting the mark will get it difficult to even buy food.. and it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead,17and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.18here is where wisdom comes in: let the one that has intelligence calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a mans number; and its number is six hundred and sixty-six.

-revelation 13:16-18. as beasts symbolises political powers in the bible, so this beast here will be a new political power having power over all the globe.

last week i did some work for the army.

while there i was impressed by how nice all the guys were.

how respectfull, helpfull and decent they all were.

Shunned by the world, then by the JWs and then shunned by Theists, when does this end?

when i was a jw i always hide my jw status to people of the world because i was taught that we were hated by satan and his world.

and indeed in school i experienced being ostracized by my religious beliefs and everytime i had to take a stand not saluting the flag i was the object of ridicule.. then when i left the jw now i am shunned by my family by taking a firm posture on my beliefs or disbeliefs.

now i am ostracized by my own jw family because i dont go along their set of doctrines.. now that i have abandoned any religious belief altogether feel how most people who dont believe in a god are ostracized from the majority of the populations.

Are you in the USA dude? Most of the UK/Europe is atheist, give the USA another couple of hundred years to evolve and it might catch other parts of the world up, until then maybe consider moving?

Just watched Avatar! Great film

we just watched it from standard dvd format on our 36" flatscreen.

it was a good flick - but i bet it is fabulous in 3d and theater quality.. jeff.

ZombieDub - what's wrong with special effects? Beats un-special effects. No one expects a movie like this one to be plot-thick. Many great movies had predictible action and plot. Lot's of film critics seemed to like it - as well as millions of fans who watched it in premier. When your plot rich movie premiers, let us know.

if you are impressed by computer graphics, nothing, I've just been watching computer graphics nearly all my life and they just don't impress me in anyway anymore - seen it all before 100 times. It didn't have to be plot thick but considering it was about 3 hours long (well felt it) it could have had some plot in it? You could squeeze the actual plot into, what 4 minutes? And to say because I haven't got a hollywood film out means I can't have an opinion is a strawman argument :)

I watched it at the cinema in 3d and fell asleep about 3 times as it was so boring and utterly lacking any kind of story, apart from basically being a rip off of pocahontas, i can't believe that people in 2010 are still impressed by computer special effects. I'd take a film with a story any day over a plotless, predictable, computer generated film
